LEST WE FORGET THE GURKHAS

The Gurkhas, famous for the bravery as soldiers  in Malaysia (before independence) and elsewhere in the Commonwealth. The generic name for Nepalese is derived from the town Gurkha situated at the lower reaches of the Great Himalayan Range. The Gurungs live at high elevations in the Range.

Living in the geographically challenged snowcapped mountains make them tough people.

The recent earthquakes in Nepal have killed more than 80,000 people and injured many more. It is hearthening that the government, MERCY and other NGOs are directly involved to save lives and help those affected.
